P1zzeezee Bike Cleaner - a second opinion

When I first saw P1zzeezee bike cleaner I wasn’t sure if the pale yellow colour of the liquid inside the bottle was a coincidence or not, but it was very apt. With an RRP Of £4.99 for 1 litre it is a little bit cheaper than the other bike cleaners out there, but how did it fair against the competition? A weekend in Wales should help find out.

“Simply spray all over your bike and leave for 1-2 minutes, do not allow to dry” are the instructions on the bottle. I was very surprised to see how little the cleaner foamed up when applied which left me a bit sceptical; I also noticed that the cleaner started drying after a minute and a half. So after 90 seconds and very little foaming I got the hosepipe out and started rinsing.

The results were very surprising, the mud seemed to have virtually no adhesion to the bike at all, unusual for welsh mud. With no scrubbing at all, the area around the front mech, notorious for collecting mud, cleared itself under the power of a standard hosepipe.

The bit that I was most impressed with was the cleanliness of the forks: this is the bit of the bike that I spend the most time cleaning, getting the muck out from around the seals at the top of the sliders is a pain, as is removing the built up mud that collects in the machined holes in the crown. With P1zzeezee there was no need to clean the muck from around these areas with a cloth, it all came off during rinsing!

After washing the bike the drive train did need a separate de-grease and clean, but overall the cleaning time was greatly reduced by using P1zzeezee. After air-drying the bike it appeared very shiny, and the ride the following day seemed to collect a lot less mud, despite similar conditions.

Overall, P1zzeezee bike wash did exactly what it was designed to do, get rid of muck with minimal fuss and cutting down on cleaning time. For the environmentally conscious out there it is also non-toxic and fully biodegradable. As more and more bike cleaners appear on the shelves, P1zzeezee has already proven that it will be a hard one to beat.
